Improving Page Rank – Techniques To Increase PR – Part 1

Getting good search engine traffic through Google is a priority for most web site owners, especially those whom make money from their site. To increase revenue it is important to appear high in the natural search rankings so that your only source of revenue is not just from paid traffic.

There are a few techniques that can be applied to help improve your site SEO and in turn your page rank or Google PR.

Build Backlinks
This is an obvious one. The more other sites are linking to your website, the more chance you have of traffic coming to your site from theirs. Also, if the site your link appears from is a high page rank then Google will crawl that site and see your link in it. If your site is recommended by that site then Google will see it as a plus.

Submit to directories
High page rank directories such as Add Your Site Free Submit.com allow you to have a site added for free to be included in its listing. If it is a manually checkde submission then chances of poor entries being in amongst your submission will be low so this is good too.

Niche Directories
Do you have a particular niche your site is regarding? Then if so it is worth submitting to a site dedicated to that niche. For example, if you ran a Bingo or Poker site, it would be highly worthwhile submitting to a directory such as http://www.bingopokerdirectory.net. Adding as a premium listing would improve your site as it will appear in the top of the results too.
